Tutorial: Pinterest Inspired Vase

Pinterest is the bomb. I am so inspired to craft when I browse all the wonderful pins. In fact, I received more than one “Pinterest” craft for Christmas this year! I love it.

I picked this gold vase up from Goodwill with the intention of doing this project. The benefit of reading about diy/craft projects is that you are immediately inspired when you see something out that you know you can use.

P.S. I ruined the top of this table with a hot glue gun. That needs to be a diy project in my near future…

I took rubber bands and wrapped them around the vase. You can use as many or as few as you would like–just personal preference.

Bring on the silver spray paint…

Once it is dry, just cut off the rubber bands. At first, I tried to pull them off, but I realized that using scissors is much easier. This is a very simple project that you could do in half an hour (of course, allow for drying time). And, there you have it!

I bought glass vases from a craft store and made several of these for my friends this Christmas. I liked the silver over “clear”, but I also really like the mixing of metallics on this vase. This is perfect to decorate for  New Year’s Eve, but I can also use it all year! I could fill it with flowers or spray paint some branches to set inside.

I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and that you are still enjoying time with family and friends!

Enjoying the Good Life,

Kendra
