Today is National Chocolate Cake Day! What even is that? I want to be excited, but I’m not going to act like a day dedicated to cake isn’t weird. Let’s call it good-weird because I feel like it needs to be acknowledged. : )
At first, I planned on baking a cake and sharing the recipe with you and then I thought, “Wait–that means I’ll have the cake in my house and I’ll have to eat it.” And, since I already ate half a pan of brownies, I decided to share my favorite recipe with you.
A friend made this cake that was featured on Design Sponge and…oh, wow…it is so good. Don’t make it if you’re counting calories, but be sure to make it if you want a good cake!
1 box instant yellow cake mix
1 box chocolate jell-o instant pudding (small package)
8 oz of sour cream
3/4 cup oil
3/4 cup water
1 pack of semi-sweet chocolate chips (small package)
Mix all ingredients and add in 1 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
Pour into greased bundt pan
Bake at 350 for an hour
I say visit your local Goodwill for a pretty cake plate to make your National Chocolate Cake Day even more special. : )
Enjoying the Good Life,
