Every time I visit a city, even if it is for a few hours, I always search out the nearest thrift store. Sometimes, I feel like its just the right thing to do. This past week I was visiting Sumter, SC and was passing through Columbia, SC to get there. When I came back through I stopped at Goodwill. It wasn’t a gold mine visit, but I did find this basic, yet highly functional punch bowl (or so I think it is a punch bowl). Take a look.
This is one item, I didn’t pass over. As soon as I saw it, I immediately went towards it and at $5.75 how could I say no? Although it was probably intended to be used as a punch bowl and probably have served countless red punch mixes, it is always fun to see what other uses it can have.
So here are 5 ways to use a $5 punch bowl, like of course, if you happen to score one. Which I am sure you may.
IDEA 1: Flower Arrangements
Anytime you can find an amazing vessel to hold flowers in, grab it. While some people prefer faux flowers because they last a long time, a weekly arrival of fresh flowers just adds that special touch to your home or to your office space.
IDEA 2: Seasonal Décor
As most of you all know, decorating doesn’t have to be expensive and decorating for the season can just simply be one or two items displayed properly and the outdoor season and be brought indoors.
IDEA 3: Fruit Display
Any type of fruit is delicious, but fruit displayed in a silver punch bowl makes the fruit just that more special. So grab some fruit and throw it in this new silver punch bowl and what an amazing veast for the eyes.
IDEA 4: TIE STORAGE
As a guy I am always trying to find a way to store my scarfs and ties and I think a punch bowl would be a great way to easily access my ties for the week. All I have to do is select what ties I want to wear that week, put them in the bowl and they are right within arm’s reach!
IDEA 5: GUEST TOILETRIES
Even if you have a small silver container, storing your guest towels and toiletries in a punch bowl is a very sophisticated way to show your guest just how fancy you are. If it’s a large bowl, like the one I found, then you can even roll up a bath towel and have it as a one-stop shop.
What makes a cheap find even better is the many uses you can get from them. When I first saw this punch bowl, I was immediately thinking about just putting some flowers in it, but now that I have taken the time to think, I know now there are so many uses for it.
So tell me, what other uses do you have for a silver punch bowl? Let me know in the comments!
