Transforming an Old Chandelier Into an OVERSIZED terrarium

One thing is for sure, we may never run out of ideas when it comes to repurposing items from the thrift store.

I personally am always excited to see discarded items gain a new life especially when the cost on a few dollars.

The other day I was at my local thrift store and I saw this HUGE terrarium. Although I am not big on having plants indoors, I immediately stopped and investigated to see what it was made out of. To my surprise, this terrarium was made from one of those old outdated chandeliers that pop up in Goodwill from time to time. How ingenious!

Terrariums from fancy online retailers can cost a lot. Even your local brick and mortar store charges around $30 for a small faceted container that most people use to create terrariums. Now, that may not seem like a lot of money, but when you start to add up all of the supplies, the cost can add up significantly. Not only does the cost add up, but those glass containers are really small.

I am a huge believer that bigger is better when it comes to artwork and decor pieces in the home, so using an old chandelier as a terrarium is honestly, one of the best things ever. For less than $50 you can have a unique piece in your home and everyone would honestly think you picked it up from one of those high-end stores!

Would you try your hand at making a terrarium with an old chandelier?
