Wooden items – any shape, any size – are one of my go-to items at Goodwill. They’re inexpensive and easy to upcycle, so when I found this utensil holder, I couldn’t get it in my cart fast enough.
I knew it would be a handy thing in my craft room. And then it dawned on me…any number of wooden items from Goodwill could become organizers for my craft supplies. It didn’t matter to me that they were all different shades of brown, either.
Because, with a little paint and some stenciling, I could transform these random finds into a matching set!
So, I spray painted each one, deciding to use black paint as my base.
Then, I stenciled coordinating designs onto each piece. That way, they looked like they were a matching set, meant to work together in harmony!
See what I mean? And the best part is that whenever I need to add to my set, I’ll just head to the thrift store and give new pieces the same kind of makeover! Instant craft supply organization, all from the shelves at Goodwill.
