Tutorial: Sweater Pillow

Check out this beauty that I got at Goodwill for less than $4.00.

The shape is pretty dumpy. Let’s get real–no one is going to look good in this sweater unless you are Cameron Diaz. And, people will only tell you that you look good in it because you are Cameron Diaz. So…pillow it is.

Let’s start by cutting off the sleeves.

Then, cut straight across the top, right under the neckline.

It should look something like this:

Flip it inside out and sew around the edges according to the dimensions of your pillow. Leave a little space at the bottom to stuff your pillow in and then stitch up the opening. Seriously, it’s that easy.

I like that the yellow is happy and warm, but the cable knit is so appropriate for winter. If you’re like me, you get tired of seeing the same ol’ pillows and this is a very inexpensive way of updating the look of a room.

Enjoying the Good Life,

  1. I keep seeing these pillows everywhere, but they seem to range from $10-30. So, I think this project needs to be next on my “must do” list:)

  2. These would be cute gifts! I want to make one for sure.

  3. So simple – I have a few sweaters hiding in my closet – this is the perfect solution (and I’m kicking myself for giving my favorite sweater to the Goodwill just this past weekend!)
