A hectic work life can make thrifting during your lunch break difficult, if not impossible.
If you’ve ever had one of those days, weeks, or months where you feel like taking two minutes to run to the bathroom once a day is a “break”, I’m sure you know exactly where I’m coming from.
For a thrift addict, such as myself, denying myself this one (fairly guiltless) pleasure is downright painful.
I can hear racks and racks of sweet secondhand finds whispering to me as I hunch over my keyboard, growing louder every day.
Jillian! Jilllllllian! Where are you???? Come find us!
GoodTwice’s concept is a simple one. It’s an online thrift store that features curated items that are fashionable, in good condition, and way less expensive than brand new or even consignment. GoodTwice is run by Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina, so all proceeds stay right here in the community.
After taking a restroom break at work, I was feeling wildly indulgent, so I took an extra five minutes or so to pick out a few items to make a fashionably bohemian Valentine’s date night outfit…because who knew when/if I’d find time to enter an actual brick-and-mortar store before then!
I was pleasantly surprised by what I was able to find for my allocated budget of $100. I was also pleasantly surprised to discover GoodTwice’s flat rate $0.99 shipping charge.
I was further surprised when two days later, I received this nicely packaged parcel on my doorstep.
So, what did I choose?
Don’t believe me? That’s okay. I’ve got the receipt.
|Jessica Simpson Faux Snake Skin Purse||$10.99|
|TOMS Red Wedge Heels||$14.99|
|MICHAEL Michael Kors Metallic Shoulder Bag||$18.99|
|Free People Oversized Sheer Embroidered Coverlet||$17.99|
|Eileen Fisher 100% Silk Black Dress/Tunic||$16.99|
|Beaded Fashion Necklace||$8.99|
|Beaded Faux Cabochon Pendant Fashion Necklace||$8.99|
Yes…you read that right…I scored a Michael Kors leather handbag for $18.99. Eileen Fisher, Toms, and Free People aren’t exactly inexpensive brands either. Go ahead…check out their websites. I’ll wait.
So, how did my Valentine’s Day outfit work together? Very well, I think!
I opted for the Michael Kors bag over the red one, as I thought any more red than I was already wearing would just be overkill. I layered the two necklaces for maximum visual impact, and I’ve gotta say, I think everything works really well together!
So, whether you’re heading out for a fancy dinner with your dearest or flying solo, check out GoodTwice and be your own Valentine. They’re running a 40% Off promo through February 14, so why not sneak a peek and see what you find?
