Thrifty clothing makeovers: I simply love being inspired by the potential of a garment I see while browsing at Goodwill. Take this romper, for example.
At first glance, I thought I would simply remove the vest and the outfit would be good to go. After further inspection, though, I noticed the “vest” was actually sewn-on panels.
For many, this would have been a deal breaker. I was up for the challenge, though, and knew a little tweaking could turn the romper into something I’d be excited to wear.
My trusty seam ripper.
Goodbye panels!
Hello, new romper! This was an easy makeover project – one most anyone could handle, even without a sewing machine. (It would be simple to hand-stitch the seams.) So, the next time you are out and see a garment with potential – even if not perfectly to your fashion taste – don’t pass it by. Its possibilities just might be endless.
Have you given any Goodwill clothing items a makeover?
