Let’s face it, kids eat playdough. Maybe it’s a kiddo right of passage? But, if they are going to eat it, then you want to make it safe! Because, playdough is SO FUN!
This recipe doesn’t call for cream of tartar (because I don’t have any, and I didn’t plan to buy it just for a craft). Instead, you just use a little more salt than usual.
4 cups of flour
1 1/2 cups of salt
2 Tbsp of oil
1 cup of water
Food coloring
Depending on the number of colors you want to make, divide the water and oil equally in separate bowls and add your coloring. In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients and, equally divided, add them to your coloring. Once you have mixed each bowl, knead your mixture on wax paper (easy cleanup!). If you store your playdough in a Ziplock bag in the refrigerator, it will last longer.
When I was at the grocery store, I saw neon food coloring–how fun would that be?!
Enjoying the Good Life,
Kendra
