In the past few years, we have tried very hard to keep nasty chemicals out of our house. You would be surprised how many harmful ingredients are in everyday products that we use. We are spraying and wiping solutions all over our home and many of them are absolutely toxic. Making your own cleaning products is simple, cost effective, and you know exactly what you are cleaning with! Worth it, friends. Here are the basic ingredients you need to work with:
1. Multi-Purpose Cleaner.
Mix 12 drops of lemon and 4 TBS of vinegar in a spray bottle filled with water. Shake well and use all around your home!
2. The Kitchen.
In all my pictures, I don’t have one of just the basic two–baking soda and water. This is great for scrubbing burnt pans. What? You don’t burn your pan every single time you make eggs? Me neither.
3. The Bathroom.
1 cup of vinegar, 1/4 cup of baking soda, and a drop of Melaleuca makes a great toilet bowl cleaner. Mix, let it sit, scrub and flush. (The Melaleuca is not a “must” here, just a perk.)
I don’t know about you, but sometimes my hair sheds like a dog. Therefore, my sink gets clogged a lot. Gross, I know. This morning, I mixed about 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1/2 cup of vinegar, and a drop of Wild Orange in my sink. I let it sit for 15ish minutes and poured boiling water down the drain. It worked great.
You can also make a paste with baking soda and water (1 cup baking soda to 2 cups of water) and clean your grout.
I hope this helps and that you can implement some of these in your home!
Enjoying the Good Life,
