This project is so simple and you could do the whole thing in a matter of minutes. So, grab a tea towel and some freezer paper and get ready to make a cute diy project for your kitchen or bathroom!
I created my text as an image and made sure to flip it, horizontally, before I printed it. Then, I printed the image onto the waxy side of a piece of freezer paper that I cut to the size of printer paper.
You want the ink to be wet when you iron it on. (Spoiler alert: I think this may have been my problem…I waited too long).
I positioned the freezer paper on the tea towel so that the waxy side was against the fabric and ironed it for about a minute. Then, I rubbed over the paper with a spatula (fancy, I know), to make sure the image transferred well.
See how light it turned out? I think it may be because I waited too long and the ink began to dry.
If this happens to you, don’t be discouraged. At least it’s a good stencil, right? So, do what any good diyer would do and grab a fabric marker and trace right over the words. Not a waste!
Have you tried this? If you have any good tips, I’d love to hear them!
Enjoying the Good Life,
Kendra
