DIY: Fabric Hoops

My mom’s been cleaning out her garage and she let me go though and take anything I wanted before she donated it. You better believe I took these embroidery hoops (along with some other fun finds!).

Please tell me you know what I’m going to do with these hoops! Right away, I knew I wanted to stretch fabric in them to create wall hangings. It’s nice to think outside the box when it comes to buying fabrics for crafting. I went to Goodwill and found a child’s dress and a toddler shirt that would work perfect. Just enough fabric and I love the prints.

First, I snapped the hoop around the fabric, making sure to pull it taut.

Then, I trimmed the fabric along the back–close to the hoop.

I did the same with the dress…

And, that’s it! I’m not sure where these should be hanging, but I really like them. The floral fabric is definitely my favorite. Eclectic and sweet and southern.

If you try this, I’d love to see! Send me pictures.

And…I’m happy to announce that the winner of the LOFT dress giveaway is LM! Congratulations and enjoy! Thank you to all who participated! I definitely plan to do more giveaways!

Enjoying the Good Life,
