Christmas 2011 Tour

Welcome to my little holiday home tour. Most of my Christmas decor is focused on my living room, but I will give you a little peak into my home so you can see how I decorate at Christmas.

This is a little plate I have sitting in my kitchen. It’s a shout out to southern living.

And, this is the top of my piano. The canvas on the right is a picture that my husband took from a window on a rainy day. I love it. The painting on the left is something I did. Recognize the wreath? I plan to give it a more permanent home, but I like it here for Christmas.

Welcome to my living room…

I didn’t turn the lights on because they photograph crazy, but they are white. One year,  I found this huge string of pearls at a yard sale for a dollar.

This stays in my home, year round, but it feels especially warm and cozy at Christmas.

You may have noticed these lamps and vases behind the tree–there is one on each side of the buffet. The lamps belonged to my husband’s grandmother and the vases were an “after Christmas” score. I plan to put little evergreen twigs in them.

I changed the pillows up, a bit…

Recognize the book page art? I made that little wreath with some fabric from my grandmother’s house and scrap from my curtains. The little angel is from Ikea and the print is a free art print from Jones Design Company.

As you can see, a lot of it is homemade/diy/found on sale. Decorating does not have to include a heavy price tag! I think a homemade Christmas is warm and inviting. After all, Christmas is not about bells and whistles and fancy decor. If that’s what our focus is on, then we’ve missed the point.

I hope you are having a wonderfully merry Christmas season.

Enjoying the Good Life,
