Dachshunds are wonderful pups. I would go so far as to say they are the finest breed…you know…when they’re not barking (at nothing), peeing on the floor (even though they just went out), or when they give you that adorable “Who, me?” look after chewing up your favorite shoes.
However, as this scarf by The Hankerer indicates, they are also very verrrrrrry long.
I happen to own a weiner dog named Douglas. He gets cold very easily…to the point of not wanting to go outside. I’ve tried to purchase sweaters for him, but because they’re so short on him, he ends up looking like he’s wearing a crop top (Acceptable for a teen girl in the 90’s, but not so much for a dog in 2015).
When I refashioned this dress for my blog, ReFashionista, the leftovers gave me a great idea!
Those sleeves were the perfect length for my longer-than-typical pup!
A few small cuts were made.
And just look at Douglas now!
So…if you have a small dog and an uneeded sleeve from a sewing project, don’t toss it out!
