YoYo Art

I saw these pinwheel pushpins at Anthropologie.com and I was inspired to make a little piece of art.

They’re calling these pinwheels–I know them as yoyo’s. There are plenty of tutorials online for making them. Basically, you cut a circle out of your fabric, hand stitch around the edge, bunching it as you go, and tie it off at the end. So simple.

I used some fabric from Goodwill clothing to make my yoyo’s and then I used double sided tape to attach them to a piece of scrapbook paper.

I think it’s just a fun, little piece of art to add a punch of color to a bookshelf or tabletop. I like the idea of making several out of different fabrics and attaching them in a shadow box. Or, you know, gluing them to push pins. : )

Enjoying the Good Life,

Kendra
