Thrifty Living at its Finest…

What do you do when you have a business meeting to go to with your husband and you’re not sure what to wear? I’ve created a little recipe, of sorts, for you.

About an hour before you have to leave, pull out the thrifted tea-length dress that you wore to a high school social in 11th grade. (Please don’t ask why I still have it. No idea.)

Cut the top off. That’s right–take scissors to your dress. An hour before you need to walk out the door.

Pair it with a ruffled top and the black heels that you’ve had since, oh, you know…college. Top it off with the blazer that you bought for a job interview to blog about Goodwill shopping, thrifty living, etc. (Oooooops. I bought it for about 75% off, though. Is that enough to redeem myself?)

Rock your outfit, feeling like a million bucks, but loving that it was FREE.

Enjoying the Good Life,

  1. This might be my favorite post so far! I’m lovin’ up on that free outfit!

  2. You’re brave, but I bet it looked fantastic! How did you know that the skirt part of the dress would stay up on its own? Did it have a high waist line, so it just sat loosely on your hips once it was cut?

Oh! I should have said. The dress had an elastic waist, so I just cut above the elastic. : )

  3. P.S. Love the shoes!!
