Since Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I thought I would put together a table setting for you. I always think about what I am making, and I never give thought to how to decorate my table–probably because I’ve never hosted Thanksgiving. But, I love to host, in general, and your table can set the ambiance. Here’s a little something I pulled together:
Ready for the breakdown? (Notice the candlesticks in the background? Those were my Goodwill scores that I talked about here: Goodwill Roundup: Favorite Finds.)
The base is a sheet of gold scrapbook paper that I had sitting on my craft shelf. (You all have shelves like that, right? A catch all for crafting? Mine is a doozy.) The napkin is from Ikea (I think they were $1/pack) and it is gold and silver floral. On top of the napkin is a card from Jones Design Company. She is so sweet and gracious, and often puts up free printables for her readers. You can download them here. I would put out a cup of pens and let each guest write what they are thankful for that year.
A few months ago, I bought a pack of doily’s from Michael’s for $0.99. I pulled this little guy out to use as a coaster. Protect your table!
I think it would be sweet to put something by each place setting that reminds you of that particular guest–perhaps something that was significant in their life that year. This year, my husband flew in a plane for the first time. We had such a fun trip together! I saw this little brass plane at Goodwill and it instantly reminded me of my sweet man. I am thankful, abundantly thankful, for him.
There you have it! My idea for a Thanksgiving place setting…
Happy Thanksgiving, my friends! I would love to know how you are decorating your table!
Enjoying the Good Life,
