Sweater Baby Pants

I have a few friends who are pregnant right now and I love the idea of handmade baby clothes. I’m by no means the first to make baby pants from a sweater, but I thought I’d share it with you.

I bought this sweater at Goodwill. Cream is gender-neutral and, let’s face it, babies are just adorable in off-white.

I cut out one pant leg from each sleeve, using the cuff of the sleeve as the cuff of the pants.

I opened up the pieces and pinned them together, wrong-side-out, and stitched them together.

Then, I sewed a pocket at the waist and added 1/2″ elastic.

To add a little interest, I added three buttons to each cuff. If you use a cardigan, you could re-use the buttons!

This project was so easy and I love the way they turned out!

Give it a try! I think you’ll adore them.

Enjoying the Good Life,

Kendra
