Ruffled Necktie Tutorial

Friends, welcome to a tutorial for those who do not sew. I was thinking that a lot of my fashion tutorials and refashions involve my sewing machine, but that’s not always feasible. Today, my tutorial is as basic as it gets. I used a $3.00 necktie from Goodwill, and a hot glue gun.

To start, overlap the ends and tack them together with a bit of glue. This is the table that I already ruined with hot glue, so that’s why it looks so cray cray.

Fold over part of the wider side and attach it with glue.

Continue adding ruffles, tacking with glue as you go.

When you are finished, flip it over and tack it on the opposite side. This will just give it a little more stability.

Bada bing, bada boom.

So simple, right? This would be a great addition to casual or work wear–it would really punch up your outfit around the office. For $3, you can’t go wrong. If you try it, I would love to see pictures!

Have a good weekend!

Enjoying the Good Life,
Kendra
