Repurposing Round-Up: Wicker Basket Edition

There are very few certainties in life, but here’s one exception- there will ALWAYS be a big selection of wicker baskets at your local Goodwill thrift store! Big and small, round and square, and everything in between, baskets are one of the easiest things to thrift…and there are countless ways to use them at home! So, to spark your creativity, I’ve gathered some of my favorite ways to repurpose them…

*****

Woven Ribbon Basket– An open weave wicker basket is the perfect candidate for this project- weaving ribbon! I did this one for an Easter basket, but you could personalize it however you’d like!

DIY Basket Handles– Combining broken jewelry with a thrift store basket? I love this idea!

Gallery Wall– Fill empty wall space with style, but on the thriftiest budget you can imagine!

Pet Bed– Create a perfect little napping nook for your kitty or pup with a thrift store basket.

Magazine Storage– Tuck away your festive holiday magazines in a handy thrift store picnic basket- easy to store and grab the holidays roll around each year!

Seasonal Wreath– Thrift store baskets are ideal for repurposing into wreaths, no matter what time of year it is or holiday you’re celebrating!

Basket Pendant Light– Get the boutique shop look without the price tag using this basket pendant light idea and tutorial.

Tribal-painted Planters– Add some porch panache by painting geometric designs on thrifted baskets and use them as planters!

Storage Shelves– Simple, lightweight, and tons of storage- these repurposed basket shelves are a terrific idea!

Halloween Candy Bowl– This is such a fun DIY idea for Halloween! (Insert Photo 10)

So, which one is your favorite? You could use them decoratively, or maybe more functionally- either way, you’ll get a lot of bang for your thrift store buck with wicker baskets!

Craft on!
