I’m back with one more Handmade Holiday gift to share with you (ok, maybe two). I made this envelope style pillow case using a simpler version of the tutorial that I shared with you a while back. Instead of using three separate panels, I used one long panel and overlapped the ends. Much easier.
I had a few mismatched vintage buttons that I added to the back. I think it adds character. A great way to collect vintage buttons is by taking them off of clothing from Goodwill. Not your size? Not your style? Doesn’t matter. If you like the buttons, buy it. Buttons are expensive! Goodwill clothing is not.
I was also gifted this awesome basket that has been painted with white stripes.
I’ve decided that it’s going to be the official chocolate basket in our new kitchen.
Hold up, hold up, hold up…
Yep, that’s right. We are completely gutting our kitchen and starting fresh. Which means that cabinets are currently everywhere, we don’t have a kitchen floor, and we have to move all of our kitchen contents into other parts of the house. Basically, we are more excited than is probably normal. I plan on sharing all the details of this crazy ride with you, so get excited. Oh, and did I mention that this is a DIY project? You know, we’re DIY sort of people in this house. Get. Pumped.
Happy New Year!
Enjoying the Good Life,
