Kitchen Renovation: Part 4

If you’re just joining in on the kitchen renovation fun, you should check out Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3!

Friday’s are usually for fashion, but today we’re going to talk about dressing the kitchen. Smooth transition, right? : )

The ceiling has been scraped, sanded, and painted. And, there are now two can lights by the back door and one above the sink.

Look at that ceiling–smooth like butter.

We also have paint on the walls! And, I looove it. The color reminds me of a giant chalkboard. We used Valspar’s “no VOC, paint + primer” and I would definitely recommend it. It covered very well and didn’t smell like chemical fumes.

Now, cabinets are being assembled and installed. It’s been a little tricky because the walls are bowed in opposite ways (go figure). Morale of the story–when you build a house, make sure your walls are level. But, it’s coming together and looking great!

Want a quick overview of the progress? Here’s our list:

Demo cabinets
Remove paneling
Strip remaining floor
Remove popcorn ceiling
Patch/Prime/Paint ceiling
Patch/Prime/Paint Drywall
Add receptacles
Lower drain pipe
Hang cabinets (in progress)
Install can lights
Install track lights
Install pendant lights
Lay tile
Grout
Replace baseboards/crown molding

So, that’s where we’re at! I’m so glad you’re following along and I can hardly wait to share the rest of it with you!

Enjoying the Good Life,

Kendra
