Kitchen Renovation: Part 1

When we bought our house, it was a foreclosure and in pretty rough condition. The other day, we looked over these pictures and laughed out loud. It’s hard to remember it looking this way.

This is the kitchen right after we got the house. We had already taken the cabinet doors off to start painting.

We painted the cabinets and the walls and replaced the appliances. And, this is how it’s been for the past few years. (Excuse the lighting differences.)

But now–now we are in the middle of a kitchen renovation! We are repainting, replacing the cabinets, countertops, the sink, the faucet, the flooring, and we’re changing the floor plan. It’s major…and it’s a diy job! I’m looking forward to sharing the process with you. Ready? Let’s go…

The floors?…they are gonzo! My husband pulled up the laminate and used a non-toxic adhesive remover to clean up the residue.

Next step? Tearing out those cabinets…

Enjoying the Good Life,

Kendra

  1. Best of luck! I know yall are saving thousands by dIY. I would loved to have done that with our remodel. Hubby was too scared of a whole lot of things that could have gone wrong. But now it’s done. I love it.

  2. Ooh, I can’t wait to see how that Citron will play a part in the kitchen!
