Handmade Holiday: Anthro-Inspired Zinc Letters

I’ve been looking forward to sharing this post with you, but it was a Christmas present. So, I just had to wait! But, it has been gifted and it was loved.

Anthropologie sells these zinc letters for $18 a piece. DIY knock-off versions have been blowing up the blogosphere lately and I decided to jump on the bandwagon. I really feel like the DIY version has become more popular than the real thing.

I bought cardboard letters at Hobby Lobby for $2.50 each. And, I think I used a 40% off coupon with one of them…even better.

First, I painted them with a coat of black acrylic paint. When that dried, I went over them with a pearly white to achieve the metal effect. I wasn’t sure if it would work, but it did! A happy surprise, for sure.

$54 for Anthropologie letters…I don’t think so.

$6.50+plus a few dollars for paint…definitely.

I hope you had a lovely Christmas!

Enjoying the Good Life,

Kendra
