I found this awesome tutorial via Pinterest and I knew I had to try it. I found this thin jersey shirt at Goodwill. It was super soft and I knew it was perfect-o for a headband.

I cut the hem off the bottom of the shirt (discard that part), then proceeded to cut five more strips by cutting across the bottom and clipping the “ring” in half. Make sense? You should have five long strips of fabric, each about an inch in width.

I lined them up on one end and sewed them together, like so…

Then, I weaved/braided the strips. I could try to explain it, but the original tutorial does a really good job. At first, I thought, “what the what?!”. But, as I did it, I got the hang of it and it totally made sense.

I wrapped it around my head to measure the size, clipped off the excess, and sewed the ends together. Not beautiful, but it works! It was a lot of fabric to try to fit in my machine. I would maybe suggest hand stitching this part.

And, now I have a super cute headband!

Have a great weekend! I hope it’s relaxing and fun (and maybe sprinkled with a little bit of headband-making!).

Enjoying the Good Life,

Kendra
