What do you get when you combine these fabric hoops…
with this stack of fabric?
A whole new wall hanging. Oh, yes. I totally took the fabric out of one of the hoops and replaced it with some white cotton from my stash. I love the ombre trend that’s still going strong and when I saw this post on Design Sponge…I was hooked. Inspired.
I bought two shades of orange embroidery thread and two shades of yellow. You could definitely use more/less.
I started with a simple straight stitch, using the darkest color.
Gradually fading into the lighter shades of thread, I moved on with different types of stitches. Get creative with it…have fun…go crazy!
My oranges don’t look that different in the pictures, but they are. The bottom three rows are definitely darker. I finished the top with the same stitches/thread that I started with.
Tell me you’re in love…
Happy Monday!
Enjoying the Good Life,
Kendra

Kenda,
Way to go making old fashion needle point trendy! Cross-stitching is one of my long-time loves. But I always ended up stitching something for a baby or someone else. This would be worth trying and keeping for myself.
I followed you over from the 1929 Charmer linky party. I would love if you stopped by my blog.
Thanks for sharing,
Laura

This is such a fun idea. The ombre with the stitch samples is a winning combination.

Embroidery is my most recent obsession (learning to do it was one of my New Year’s Resolutions)
I’m definitely taking a mental note to do this. I think it would look absolutely charming in my craft room. Thanks for sharing and checking out my blog!
