A Place for Everything…

…and everything has a place. That’s what my mom always says. Remember my out-of-control magazine stack? As promised, I had a plan to deal with the unruly mess, so here we go…

I found this magazine rack (or, I’m assuming that’s what it is) at Goodwill for $3.00. I would definitely say that $3.00 is worth cleaning up the stack on my side table. Did I mention that my husband has a side table with magazines, as well? He gets magazines weekly, so we definitely need an allotted place for our readage (I made that up, but it works).

Some of the bars had come out of place, but I just popped them back in with a little wood glue. Wood glue= a friend to minor breaks in furniture.

I wiped it down and gave it a little primer…

and a little paint.

At this point, we are all going to have to pretend that the underneath is painted. Has this rain been crazy, or what? I know that it’s good for the plants, good for our air, etc.–but, right when I think we’re going to get a little sun…RAIN.

It dawned on me that I’ve shown you the left side of my couch (side table) and now the right side (magazine rack) and you are probably wondering what in the world this area actually looks like and how it all ties together. Welcome to our den/office. We like to think of it as our “nook”…

I hope you all had a good weekend and are staying dry in all this rain!

Enjoying the Good Life,
Kendra

  1. The color of the magazine rack just pops so much. It looks great against the neutrals in the room.

  4. Spiffy! I’ve decided that when we get a house (which will hopefully be in the next few months!), you and I are going shopping together so that you can help me see the potential in these types of things!
